Gavin Macpherson says Enfield Town’s mid-season rebuild paved the way for their Step 2 survival – and the Towners boss believes they will be better off for their first ever National League South experience.
Rock bottom at Christmas, Macpherson’s side – promoted through the Isthmian Premier play-offs last season – looked to be heading back to Step 3.
But a remarkable run of form at the start of the year – including an eight-game unbeaten streak that ultimately secured their status – saw the Towners safe.
