If this was a boxing match, judges would have needed to make a points decision as Runcorn Linnets defeated Clitheroe to progress to the preliminary round of the FA Cup.
Linnets would still have emerged as victors given Naim Arsan’s jab – or, to be precise, poke from short range – just before the break inflicted the most damage on Clitheroe.
He was alert, forcing goalwards a loose ball at a corner, then directing it into the net after goalkeeper James McClenaghan smothered his initial attempt.
