NEWLY promoted MK Irish FC were beaten by a strong Welwyn Garden City side in what was the club’s first appearance in the Southern League Division One Central.
Terry Shrieves’ side breezed to the Spartan South Midlands Football League Premier Division title last season, finishing 11 points ahead of Tring Athletic after just one defeat in 34 matches, but were given a rude awakening at a higher level here.
