Tulips bloom late with captain Dan’s penalty

SPALDING snatched victory courtesy of a late penalty just when the game appeared to be drifting towards a goalless draw.
Stourbridge substitute Archie Kirton was judged to have brought down Spalding’s Jordan Nicholson in the 88th minute and skipper Dan Lawlor made no mistake with the resulting spot kick to seal the points.
Spalding had started the better side and should have taken an immediate lead but were kept at bay by Glassboys goalkeeper Stan Amos.
