GOALS from Omari Sterling-James and Andy Williams settled matters in Hereford’s favour before Liam Hughes’ header set up a tense finish.
There were a number of chances in an end-to-end first period. Remaye Cambell slid in to meet a Sterling-James free-kick after just two minutes but guided wide while, at the other end, a shot from Martin Woods beat goalkeeper Theo Richardson only for Kyle Howkins to clear off the line.
