■ HITCHIN came from behind to win this tense derby against a team containing four of their former players.
The game was but minutes old when a Welwyn in-swinging corner appeared to enter the net without additional help. Brad Gothard getting the credit.
Hitchin’s response was well contained by a diligent Citizens’ defence with goalkeeper Lamar Johnson having a heroic game. He kept a clean sheet for 40 minutes when Hitchin were awarded a penalty, which was converted by Liam Brooks.
