Hornets hit Rebels with sting in tail

HORSHAM extended their unbeaten league run to eight matches in a tight encounter with Slough Town that looked destined to be goalless until James Hammond converted an 85th-minute penalty. The Hornets came close to opening the scoring when Harvey Sparks’ corner was diverted against the bar by a Slough head, after which the visitors had two good chances, Tyrique Clarke firing across the face of goal and Luke Holness being thwarted by Isaac Philpot’s marvellous sliding tackle.
