BRACKLEY Town might not have mustered another League One knockout but Michael Nottingham was delighted to lead the fight against the boss who gave him his big break.
The Saints hung tough at 1-1 but let slip a soft goal 17 minutes from time, eventually losing 3-1 at home to Burton Albion in Monday’s second round tie in front of a bumper crowd of 2,978 at St James’ Park.
Towering defender Nottingham adjusted like a seasoned striker to wrap his foot around Kyle Morrison’s 25th-minute knockdown from Jack Price’s deep corner to cancel out Tyrese Shade’s early fizzer.
