A BAD-TEMPERED opening to the match erupted in the 24th minute when Radcliffe’s Michael Afuye was given his marching orders for what was adjudged as violent conduct, after Rick Smith and Tyrone Marsh tried to untangle themselves from a tackle, prompting a melee of players. Smith and Marsh were both booked.
Beforehand, there were minor skirmishes, especially during corners, as both sets of players reacted to niggly tackles, but the task of playing football soon surfaced after the dismissal.
