BUXTON picked up a convincing victory against nine-man Bedford at home.
Early pressure from the Bucks paid off in the 22nd minute. George Ward shrugged off Ben Nugent and cleverly flicked the ball into Johnny Johnston’s path, allowing the forward to slot home and make it 1-0.
The visitors’ afternoon deteriorated further on 31 minutes when Ellis Brown was dismissed with a straight red card for an off-the-ball strike on Luke Brennan.
