MUCH depended on this one, and it was the side from Merseyside who held their nerve to take their relegation fight to the final day, Gainsborough slipping to seventh in their play-off fight. A first half that struggled to get going saw a fine Jack Leckie tackle halt Sharif Deans in his tracks. He came in off the Cables’ left and played a neat give and
go with John Murphy before Leckie made the telling challenge.
