The former West Ham, Tottenham and England striker was handed his first manager’s job on March 29 after emerging as the shock replacement for Neal Ardley.
But despite assuring fans of his commitment to embrace the fifth tier, the 43-year-old oversaw just six competitive matches, winning two and losing once as the Surrey club finished 10th in the National League.
