NEWCASTLE created an upset on the east coast, when they claimed the scalp of leaders of the Northern Premier League.
Josh Walker and Aaron Braithwaite went close for Cleethorpes in the opening skirmishes.
However, although the home side dominated possession in the first period, it was to be the Staffordshire outfit who enjoyed the best two opportunities. On both occasions, though, keeper Ollie Battersby made smart saves to ensure a deadlock at the break.
