CARL MARTIN has signed a new contract keeping him with Macclesfield Town until next summer.

Martin, 26, joined the Silkmen in August 2012 following a two-and-a-half year spell with Crewe Alexandra.

He featured 17 times for the Cheshire outfit last term before picking up an injury in February and not featuring again in the 2012/2013 campaign.

The versatile defender, who can play as a centre or right-back, has now signed a new one-year deal with John Askey’s men.
