JOHN SNAPE has been appointed the new first team coach at Worcester City.

Midfielder Snape played for City between 2002 and 2005 and also represented Hereford United during his player career.

He moved into management with Bromsgrove Rovers in 2009 but parted company with the now-extinct club after nine months following a change of ownership at the Victoria Ground.

The 43-year-old will work alongside City boss Carl Heeley and his number two Matt Gardiner and Heeley is confident they will make a successful team.

Speaking to Worcester News, Heeley said: He brings a wealth of experience with him. He’s a winner and Matt and I know him very well and can trust him.

“We definitely needed another person to come in to do some coaching and scouting so we will share the workload. He will be a valuable asset to us.”
