Charles Unlikely To Be Back At Boro

Eastbourne Boruogh boss Tommy Widdrington says it’s unlikely last season’s top scorer, Elliott Charles, will be at Priory Lane for the 2013/14 season.

EASTBOURNE BOROUGH boss Tommy Widdrington says it’s unlikely last season’s top scorer, Elliott Charles, will be at Priory Lane for the 2013/14 season.

Charles was offered a new deal by Boro earlier this summer but rejected it and has recently featured in a pre-season friendly for their Conference South rivals Dover Athletic.

Confirming that he doesn’t expect the Grenadian back, Widdrington told the Eastbourne Herald: “The main news on Elliott is that he is still not here.

“We have offered him a new contract and he’s decided not to take it. The offer is still on the table and he’s exercising the right to speak to other clubs.

“There is only so long we can leave the door open for him during this pre-season window, but I believe that he is definitely one worth leaving the door open for.”
