Gee Hands In Resignation At Rainworth

rainworth-mw

KEVIN GEE handed in his resignation as manager of Rainworth Miners Welfare following their 3-1 defeat at home to Brigg Town on Tuesday evening.

Brigg went into the game having lost all five of their opening Northern Premier League Division One South fixtures but found themselves 2-0 up shortly after the hour-mark thanks to goals from William Peers and Paul Grimes.

Rainworth pulled one back through Jamie Clarke on 67 minutes but Andrew Gascoigne restores Brigg’s two-goal cushion eight minutes from time.

Any hope of a Welfare comeback came to an end shortly after when Adam Murray, who joined on loan from Mansfield Town last week, was red carded for an elbow on Anthony Bowsley.

Following the final whistle, Gee, who has been in charge of the Wrens since November 2011, handed in his resignation.
