ALDERSHOT TOWN have handed a short-term deal to winger Lewis Young.

Young, who is the younger brother of England and Manchester United wideman Ashley, joins the Shots as a free agent following his departure from Yeovil Town in August.

The former Northampton Town man has signed a deal running until January next year and Shots boss Andy Scott is pleased to have him on board.

Scott told the club’s website: “He was a player I tried to get last year, but Yeovil needed him. He’s been on my radar for a long time.

“He’s very very quick – when I was at Rotherham, he played against us for Northampton and completely destroyed us.

“He’s in a similar mould to Ashley and he just needs to play football.

“He wants to play regularly. He’s a Football League player who we’re fortunate enough to get. It gives us something which we haven’t really got, which is real raw pace. Hopefully Lewis can come in and be a real asset to the club.”
