CHESTER’S Deva Stadium will take centre stage next year after it was announced that they will host England U-19s’ game against Turkey.

The match, on Wednesday, March 5, will be the Young Lions’ first game of the year as they prepare to host the Elite Qualifying Round of the UEFA U-19 Championship in May 2014.

Scotland, Montenegro and Ukraine will visit England next year to take on Nole Blake’s side, with only the top team in the group making it through to the finals in Hungary next summer.

They’ll be hoping for a good start to their campaign at the Blues’ Deva Stadium and it will be the second time the two nations have played at U-19 level in a year after England won 1-0 at AFC Telford’s New Bucks Head back in March.

Chester chairman Tony Durkin said: “We would like to thank the FA for allowing Chester FC to host this prestigious fixture.

“This is an opportunity for our community club to show off our capabilities to stage an international event, provide a fantastic match day experience for its existing fans and to encourage new supporters to the Swansway Chester Stadium to sample what should be a fabulous atmosphere.”
