HEN Liam Kenna and Lee Bircham asked me to play in their charity match for the NHS/MSI was extremely honoured, but had to point out that I am 60.
So, I offered to referee instead (I actually passed my Grade 3 at the age of 16 on an evening course with my Dad).
This weekend is the third anniversary of my last competitive 11-a-side game. The occasion was the Ireland v The Rest Of The World game at the Kilkenny Cats Laugh, Comedy Festival. There was a crowd of 600 watching on.
