Tom Hannigan Named Vauxhall Motors Captain

Supporters’ Player of the Year Tom Hannigan has been named as the club’s new captain.

The defender takes over from Paul Jones, who left Rivacre Park earlier this summer, and Motormen boss Carl Macauley was full of praise for his new skipper.

Macauley told the club’s website: “It’s been a pleasure being Tom’s manager over the last five years and each season he just gets better and better.

“I have enjoyed watching Tom’s progress and I would now rate him as one of the best centre backs in the Blue Square Bet North.”

To date Hannigan has made 146 appearances for the Cheshire-based outfit.
