MIDFIELDER Scott Phelan is set to leave Altrincham to become a full-time coach with Everton.
The 24-year-old joined the Robins in March this year after spells with Vauxhall Motors, Kidderminster Harriers, Bradford City and FC Halifax.
He had been volunteering as a coach for Everton when he was offered a permanent contract coaching nine to 11-year-olds by the Premier League outfit last Friday.
Phelan is expected to sign that deal today and Alty chairman Grahame Rowley says he will do so with the blessing of the Blue Square Bet North club.
Rowley told the club’s website: “It is a great opportunity for Scott, at a Premiership club, and we wish him well.”
