O’Driscoll Stands Aside At Hayes & Yeading United

Tony O’Driscoll has stepped down as manager of Hayes & Yeading United and will revert to his position as the club’s director of football.

Hayes and

O’Driscoll took caretaker charge of the club in early February following the departure of Nas Bashir and United have since slipped down the Conference South table to the extent they are now embroiled in a relegation fight.

They were hammered 7-1 by Staines Town on Thursday evening, a result that leaves them just two points above the dropzone, and O’Driscoll has decided to stand aside to let his coaches Tristan Lewis and Delroy Preddie take over until the end of the season.

Speaking to the club’s website, O’Driscoll said: “I would like to personally apologise to each and every fan who has paid money in recent weeks to watch Hayes & Yeading United.

“At times our performances have been nothing short of a disgrace.

“Whilst our preparations and parts of our game have been spot-on, other aspects have been embarrassing and I feel it is only right that I step aside and allow the younger heads within our side take the lead.”
