EASTBOURNE BOROUGH have signed versatile youngster Jack Deaman.

The 20-year-old, who was released by Championship outfit Birmingham City at the end of last season, has impressed while training with the Sports over the past fortnight.

Speaking about his signing, Borough boss Tommy Widdrington said: “He has shown excellent ability and terrific fitness levels in the couple of weeks he’s trained with the us.

“As I always maintain I won’t sign anyone if I don’t feel they will improve the squad and/or fit with our recruitment remit, of course his versatility is important.”

Meanwhile, Widdrington has sent Sam Cole on loan to Lewes.

Cole joined Eastbourne from Rye United in June 2011 and was a regular starter for them for two seasons.

However, he has fell out of favour this term and has now been loaned out to get some first-team football under his belt.

Cole will not be eligible to represent Lewes in the Sussex Senior Cup.
