Salford City moved eight points clear the top of the National League North while their closest rivals Harrogate Town were in FA Trophy action.
With a fourth consecutive win, York City moved into the play-offs as Southport claimed back-to-back victories.
In the National South, leaders Dartford edged out Havant & Waterlooville in a top of the table clash to open up a two-point gap.
Hampton & Richmond Borough are now second as they extended their unbeaten league run to 20 games with a win over Eastbourne Borough.
