WELCOME to the latest update of Fantasy Non-League 2016/17. Today's update covers the seven-day period Sunday 7th May 2017 through to Saturday 13th May 2017.
Well we are nearly there, just one more week to go! The end of the competition will be after the final whistle of the FA Trophy Final on Sunday 21st May 2017 and that is when all the End of Season Bonuses will be added and our main winners will be announced. This also includes the bonus points for the play-off winners.
One question that I have been asked through the FNL Helpdesk over the last couple of weeks is the rules concerning the games played at neutral grounds for example the National League Premier Play-Off final and FA Trophy final which are played at Wembley.
These games count as away games for all the teams involved. Because the FA Trophy final is being played on a Sunday that means next week's update will cover eight days and will be our final update of the 2016/17 Season.
So, who is in the running to be crowned FNL champion of the 2016/17 Season? At the top, six teams have now slipped in the 22,000-point area, Leading the way is still Carry On Dick who has 22,377pts he is 257pts ahead of second placed City Exiles and 280pts ahead of third placed Jennie's Allstars.
Sitting in the final prize position in fourth place is Roots Hall. The top ten places are covered by 579pts. But the point difference between second and tenth is only 322pts so it could be a very nervous few days for a number of our teams as they try to work out how many end of season bonus points they are going to get.
At the bottom is still Richard's Losers who seems to have been there for most of the season. Is he far enough adrift to claim the £100 Wooden Spoon prize? He currently has 7,284pts and is sitting 205pts adrift from DeeJay Losers. The bottom five teams are covered by 592pts.
So it will come down to how many of the bottom clubs in each league is held by each of those five teams as it is the bottom clubs only in each of the seven leagues who receive those -100pts.
