Tranmere Rovers manager Micky Mellon expressed his dismay at his side's exit in the FA Trophy, after going down 2-0 to Solihull Moors.
Rovers returned to Damson Park on Monday evening after their match on Saturday was postponed in the 42nd minute due to floodlights failure, with the score at 1-0 to the visitors.
But within seven minutes of the reconvened all-National League tie it was Rovers who were behind after a stunning 30-yard strike by Jamey Osborne.
When goalkeeper Luke Pilling was adjudged to have handled the ball outside the box, Jermaine Hylton slotted the penalty home and Rovers failed to challenge Moors' two-goal lead for the remainder of the match.
Speaking after the match Mellon said: “I'm disappointed with the way that we played under the conditions.
“We didn't show enough quality when we did have the ball in good areas, we didn't show enough imagination in difficult conditions.
“We didn't work their goalkeeper anywhere near enough, so all in all, I'm disappointed for the people who travelled here again, such a long distance on a cold evening.
“We didn't show the quality that we know that we have in the group.
“I picked as adventurous a team as we could to try and get through the tie, because we wanted to do well in this competition, and we're disappointed to be out.”
Mellon made one change to the team which beat Torquay United in the National League 3-0, bringing in Pilling between the posts in place of Scott Davies.
Turning their attention to the league, Tranmere will be looking to make it three consecutive victories when they travel to Gander Green Lane to take on Sutton United.
