Marcus Bignot leaves Chester with immediate effect

FC confirmed yesterday that manager Marcus Bignot had left the club with immediate effect, following their relegation from the last weekend.
The Blues' exit from the National League was confirmed on Saturday after they fell to a 2-0 defeat in the local derby against Tranmere and other results did not go in their favor.
Bignot had been set to leave the club at the end of the season, when his current deal was due to expire.
A statement on the club's official website read, “Chester Club can confirm that they have parted company with first-team manager Marcus Bignot with immediate effect.
“After what has proved to be a difficult season both on and off the pitch, which resulted in the club's relegation from the last weekend, the club have decided to end the manager's contract to facilitate the search for a new Manager.”
Bignot took over at Chester in September following the dismissal of Jon McCarthy, with the club sitting in  21st position in the table.
During his 35 games in charge of the Blues, Bignot secured just six victories.
The former Grimsby man ended his spell in charge on a high however with an entertaining 3-2 victory over at the Deva Stadium on Tuesday night.
