Wrexham have announced that Andy Davies has left the club to become assistant to former Dragons boss Dean Keates at Walsall.
Davies spent a total of 25 years with the Welsh club and made the step up to become first team manager following the departure of Keates in March.
The Welsh coach spent most of his time working within the club’s academy where he helped to nurture the development of numerous future first team players.
However, following the appointment of Sam Ricketts as the club’s new manager Davies has opted to seek pastures new by heading to the West Midlands.
A statement on Wrexham’s club website read: “Andy has served his hometown team with distinction in a number of different roles and we all wish him well, as he takes the next step on his footballing career.”
Under Davies’ guidance Wrexham finished the National League season in 10th place, three points adrift of the play-off positions.
