Tamworth part company with manager Dennis Greene

Tamworth part

Tamworth have confirmed the departure of first-team manager Dennis Greene after just five months in charge.
His exit follows Saturday’s 3-0 defeat to Biggleswade, the club’s fifth straight loss.
Greene leaves the club in 16th place in the Evo-Stik Southern Central Premier, 17 points off the play-offs and just six above the bottom three.
He was only appointed in September after a spell in charge of United Counties League Premier Division side Boston Town.
The former Boston United, St Neots Town and Histon boss replaced Mike Fowler after he stood down from the head coach role.
Greene’s assistant Paul Cavell has also departed, the Lambs have confirmed.
A statement read: “Tamworth Football Club can confirm that following discussions today, we have parted company with First Team Manager Dennis Greene, and First Team Assistant Manager Paul Cavell with immediate effect.
“We thank both for their efforts. No further comment will be made by the club until Monday.”
Tamworth take on bottom club Bedworth United coming up on Saturday.
