Bostik Premier League side Wingate & Finchley have adopted a unique strategy as they attempt to ease their relegation fears.
After parting company with former boss Glen Little last week, The Blues are throwing themselves straight into the world of modern technology by handing power to Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The revolutionary technology will analyse information inputted by the club’s coaches to select Wingate’s starting line up and tactics for their crunch game against relegation rivals Whitehawk at the start of February.
Current manager Dave Norman told PA, “It’s been very interesting having an artificial intelligence system working alongside coaches at grassroots level, trying to develop their knowledge and understanding of the game, helping and aiding decision making.
“It’s not going to change football practice, it’s not going to take the place of the manager, it’s not going to take the place of the coach, but what it can do is support infrastructure and technological changes which we’ve seen over the last 10 years.”
