Grays Athletic have confirmed manager Jamie Stuart has left the club by mutual consent.
Stuart, the former Millwall and Charlton defender, took over in 2016 at a time when the club was in turmoil on the pitch.
The Grays legend won the FA Trophy twice and the Conference South title as a player with the club before stabilising them in his first role as manager.
The Gravelmen sit tenth in Bostik North and a club statement read: “Jamie took on the role with the club in a precarious position and everyone associated with Grays Athletic would like to thank him for the passion, commitment and enthusiasm he has dedicated to The Blues during his three years in charge.
“Jamie will always be remembered as one of Grays Athletic’s greatest ever players and we hope that he fulfils his ambition to manage at a higher level in the game.”
The club expect to announce a new manager or an interim appointment in the next few days.
