MATT BADCOCK: We must act on stupidity

Everyone was set to celebrate Non-League football – so it was a bit depressing when we had to make the editorial decision to run our front page on the appalling allegations of Warrington Town keeper Tony Thompson being sent off for his reaction after claims a so-called Guiseley ‘fan’ apparently urinated in his water bottle.

FAN POWER: Over 10,000 fans piled into Wrexham last week

LAST WEEKEND, more than 16,500 people turned up to watch a game of Non-League football as Notts County took on Yeovil Town. In the same division, there were 10,000 watching Wrexham return to the top of the division and more than 7,000 at Chesterfield against Solihull Moors. In the FA Trophy, Step 4 Heybridge Swifts beat Hereford 3-0, Uxbridge knocked out Dover Athletic on a day where Tamworth, Marine and Harrow Borough were among the teams beating higher league opposition.
