YOU DON’T need two more years of Rishi Sunak’s maths classes to realise the numbers at the top of the National League don’t add up.
At their current pace, the top three of Notts County, Wrexham and Chesterfield are all on for hitting the 100-point barrier. It wouldn’t be a surprise if they all (only) exceeded 90.
But with just one automatic promotion spot, and six ultimately battling it out for the second place through the play-offs, there are going to be some very disappointed clubs when the bubbly has dissipated in a few months time.
