■ ASHINGTON manager Ian Skinner is a member of the proud Charlton footballing dynasty which hails from the north-east town.
Skinner is second cousin to England legends Jack and Bobby and third brother Tommy who was a spectator at their Inter Step 4/5 play-off match at Glossop North End a fortnight ago.
Skinner’s grandmother Ettie and the Charlton brothers’ mother Cissie were sisters.
