Following Ites brings back so many memories

AROUND 70 years ago, I went to Botany Road with my Dad and saw Sheppey United go through the qualifying rounds of the FA Amateur Cup and then beat top teams Leyton and Wimbledon to reach the last 16.
I now read about Sheppey in The NLP and listened to commentary of the recent FA Cup replay on the Billericay website and Radio Kent as I live 800 miles away.
I now watch fitba’ at Wick Academy’s Harmsworth Park where I am ‘Stadium Announcer’ and have met hundreds of groundhoppers at Scotland’s most northerly senior ground.
