HEED GET EFL NOD TO MAKE STEP UP

GATESHEAD have confirmed they will be eligible to compete for promotion into the EFL 12 months after they were barred from competing in the National League play-offs.
The Heed finished sixth last term but just hours after the final day of the season it emerged they didn’t have a ten-year security of tenure on their International Stadium and wouldn’t be accepted by the EFL.
Carl Magnay’s side sit fourth despite yesterday’s 3-1loss at Aldershot Town but have got the green light to compete should they finish in the top seven.
