PROUD boss Dave Jones says Atherton Laburnum Rovers’ season “couldn’t have gone much better” after being written off following play-off defeat last year.
The Yellows suffered heartache after losing out to South Liverpool in last season’s North West Counties First Division North playoff final.
But they finally enjoyed their day in the sun after going one better to clinch the title with a handsome 6-0win over Bacup Borough on April 5, which ended a decade of the club playing at Step 6.
