CONGRATULATIONS on a fabulous Fans’ Forum for the June 1 edition.
I was a committee member of what was a feeder league in the late 1990s. To own up to an error that was historic and implement the punishment at the end of the season does not bear thinking about.
Team sheets, cautions were submitted within days of matches being played and results of County FA disciplinary reports were issued in a similar timeline. It was difficult not to know that a player was suspended. Players themselves knew and some may have been prepared to risk playing.
