A 5-point gap must be worth one goal!

THERE’S always arguments about whether the play-offs are fair with one team ending the season on more points than another.
I don’t know why we just can’t employ a system whereby a play-off game starts with a goal advantage for each, say, five points difference in the league table.
For example, the game would start at 1-0 if it was five points and then 2-0 if it was ten points and so on. Start at 0-0if it’s under five points. Problem solved.
