BURY Town coach Paul Musgrove says Ed Upson’s 93rd-minute promotion-clincher was the perfect ending to a stellar career.
The former Ipswich man, 35, has announced his retirement just weeks after his late goal against Brightlingsea Regent snatched a 1-0 victory in the Isthmian North Play Off Final.
“I go back a long way with Ed and it’s tough to see him go,” said Musgrove, who is assistant to Cole Skuse at Ram Meadow. “We’ll miss him a lot but as a friend I couldn’t be happier for him to go out in the way he did. It was the perfect ending.”
