have asked fans to help them come up with a name and kit colour for a potential new club following Hinckley United’s folding earlier this season.

The Knitters who had played at De Montfort Park were wound up by the High Court over debts of more than £200,000 and the town is looking to create a new club.

Fans are asked to attend a meeting organised by the community club working group which is taking place at 7pm on Wednesday, January 15 at the Clarendon Club in Coventry Road.

Before the meeting fans can suggest names using the Twitter hashtag #hinckleyname or Facebook group Future of in Hinckley.

Names such as Hinckley AFC and Hinckley Nomads have been touted as possible options with the club playing in red, blue and white or black and white with the aim of creating the club in time for the new season in August.
