Boston United boss Adam Murray moving club’s training base to help boost recruitment

manager Adam Murray says he is moving the club's training base to help entice new players to sign up.

Former Mansfield Town boss Murray took over at York in December, replacing Dennis Greene who had departed after the 9-2 thrashing at .

Murray helped steady the ship and the Pilgrims travel to on Saturday for their final game of the season before preparations for next term begin.

The boss already has one eye on pre-season, however, and has revealed that training will be moved further inland for the benefit of his squad.

“Pre-season starts on June 24 and I'll have 99.9 per cent of my players in on that first day,” Murray told the Boston Standard.

“Recruitment isn't tough. We're surrounded by good areas to get players from. We've moved training from Sleaford over towards the M1, which makes it a lot easier for players to get to.”

Murray is also confident his side can make York Street a fortress next year with the Lincolnshire ground a long trip for most clubs.

“A lot of work needs to go on in the summer in terms of recruitment in order to bring the team forward, but I don't want us to be a soft touch,” the boss added.

“When I came to Boston the trip did your head in. It wore you out. But you use that to your benefit. We need to make this a place where people are beaten before they get off the bus.”
