■ A DETERMINED Barking saw off Redbridge in the Preliminary Round of the FA Cup, as they defended a single-goal lead with great pride at the Techsoc.com Stadium.
The visitors broke out of a gritty first half that reflected two evenly matched sides. The moment of decisive magic arrived after 39 minutes, as Juwon Akintunde superbly swivelled and shot from the right of the box, tucking his effort delicately in the bottom-left corner.
Unfortunately for the hosts, the second half saw resolute defending from the travelling Blues.
