■ CONGLETON Town avoided the proverbial banana skin as they dispatched North West Counties Premier side Padiham 3-0 to progress.
Having dominated the first 45 minutes, the only thing that was missing from the Congleton play was a goal. However, that came just six minutes before the half-time break when Ethan Hartshorn found the back of the net with a bullet header from a corner.
Congleton then doubled their advantage after 52 minutes as George Sankey unleashed a beauty of a strike to send the ball past Bradley Sullivan.
