■ HAYES almost paid the price for wasting a hatful of chances, coming up against an inspired visiting goalkeeper, and surviving a missed penalty kick.
The hosts dominated in terms of both chances and possession in the first half, with the deadlock broken when Sam Ashton’s header was blocked by Emmanuel Olajide and Jose Sani was on hand to poke home.
SCR scored from their first real chance of the game as Ikala found Stuart Mortimer unmarked and he guided in a smart header.
