■ MALDON & Tiptree secured their place in the next round of the FA Cup with a win over Stanway Rovers.
In a meeting between the Isthmian North’s top two sides, the hosts started well and nearly took an early lead when Tevan Allen was denied from close range after eight minutes.
Maldon’s pressure paid off just before the half-hour mark when Cameron James bundled home from close range.
