Matty Crothers’ phone buzzed last Saturday night, and most of Sunday too, after a video clip of his latest goal was posted on social media.
It’s easy to understand why.
The Chadderton midfielder steadies himself with a first touch just outside the centre circle inside his own half before using his second to arc a lobbed shot over Dan Atherton, FC United of Manchester’s goalkeeper.
Picture perfect, it also sent the Oldham-based outfit through to the FA Cup third qualifying round for the first time.
