A FIRST-HALF brace from Chelmsford City talisman Lyle Taylor ended Alvechurch’s cup run as the National League South side secured a hard-fought victory.
The former Charlton Athletic, Sheffield United and Nottingham Forest striker found the net after 21 minutes and in first-half stoppage time to book his side’s place in the final qualifying round of the competition.
It was their Step 3 hosts, though who started the sharper, looking to make home advantage count as the Clarets tried to adapt to the Lye Meadow conditions.
