CITY of Liverpool advanced to the first round proper after a hard-fought victory at AFC Liverpool in this Merseyside derby. Goals from Craig Dalton and Tom Peterson secured an historic win for the club as the Purps, formed in 2015, have never reached this stage of the competition before in their short history.
The Purps took the lead after just 18 minutes when Dalton headed home an overhead cross into the box by the impressive Noon.
